Necessity of FPD photoelectric glass thinning

1. FPD photoelectric glass thinning can adapt to the terminal consumer electronics products "thin and light" demand, and significantly improve the display effect.

FPD photoelectric glass thinning mainly refers to the FPD glass substrate thinning treatment. At present, TFT-LCD, OLED or other flat panel display technology of various types of terminal consumer electronics products, light, thin is its two core competitive elements. 2.FPD optoelectronic glass thinning can meet the requirements of flat panel display manufacturers, reduce their production costs

Although the current glass substrate manufacturers can produce thinner white glass, but flat panel display manufacturers directly with thin glass production display panel there are obvious disadvantages. Thinner glass substrate prices are higher, which will affect the profitability of flat panel display manufacturers.
At the same time, FPD production equipment is subject to production yield and cost constraints, it is difficult to process thinner glass substrates: on the one hand, due to the large investment scale of FPD generation line, the white glass used in the production of FPD panels is generally 0.5mm or 0.4mm standard size, although the production line has been modified to enable the processing of thinner white glass, but the cost of the equipment modification is very high; on the other hand, a large area of light thin glass is prone to float in the transmission process. On the other hand, a large piece of thin and light glass in the transmission process is prone to floating effect, at the same time, by the weight of the glass itself and other aspects of the impact of the white glass thickness of less than 0.3mm conditions, FPD generation line using robotic processing of a large piece of white glass, the glass will be bending and deformation of the glass, the two glass is difficult to accurately affixed, which affects the yield of the product, and enhance the cost.

3. Display panel thinning and the use of thin glass production display panel process comparison

If thin glass substrates are used directly, panel manufacturers need to use carrier boards to carry thin glass substrates for transmission in order to prevent the floating effect of the glass substrates. The investment and time costs associated with the improvement of FPD production equipment, as well as the increase in raw material costs for the direct procurement of thin glass substrates, are far more than the cost of using conventional white glass (0.4mm or 0.5mm) to produce display panels and then thinning them. .
Therefore, the current market to meet the demand for thinning display devices is more economical method to meet the demand for thinning display panels mainly through chemical or physical methods of display panels in the box thinning.
